Wisdom tooth or the third molar complains are very common among the people above the age of 18 years. Wisdom tooth is the last tooth to erupt in our mouth and so because of the inadequate space, it may present problems to the patients. It is called an impacted third molar. The most common complains are
Severe pain in the tooth and surrounding areas like ear, neck and head.
Mouth opening is reduced(TRISMUS). Sometimes patients come with only one finger mouth opening.
Swelling in the third molar region which can also be visible on outside of the face.
It may be accompanied by fever sometimes.
Remember :wisdom tooth is an extra tooth and it is of no help in chewing. And after it's removal we need not replace it with an artificial tooth.
Many times the wisdom tooth is not straight in it's pattern. It may be tilted. So there are no chances of this tooth to come out in the mouth. The only option left is the removal of the wisdom tooth.

Denture surgery. (mouth preparation for dentures). We sometimes need to smoothen the bone for the denture. This will give the patient pain free dentures.
Frenectomy.(tongue tie) sometimes tongue is tied to the lower jaw which produces problems in speaking. We have to free the tongue from the lower jaw. We do it with the help of lasers which requires no anaesthesia and no pain after the surgery.
